I was so pleased to see the latest edition to the zoo too:  two green parrots.  Don't see many of them these days.....unless you visit your local pet store or a latin neighborhood.  Great.  Hello??  Is this thing on?  And they normally charge $8 a head for this crap.  I don't understand the zoo people.  I wish I could have been at that meeting:  "Yes, I know we have Red Pandas and Lemurs and all kinds of exciting exotic creatures but I tell you what would really add pizaz to our collection:  green parrots."  What's next?  "Welcome the newest addition to the zoo - a rat.  Oh excuse me, he's here all the time unofficially.  Scratch that.  Welcome (drum roll please) the dog."  We didn't even get to see the much heralded Polar Bears because of the heat they were and I quote "unavailable"....to tell you the truth I completely understood.  By that point I was unavailable too. 

Thank god we went with our new neighborhood friends Roz & Daniel.  Roz is the newest member of our Brooklyn neighborhood momtourage.  The best laughs of the day were had on the subway ride home.  We were literally peeing ourselves over those parrots.  That's what happens when you have 9 and a half pound babies ladies....you pee yourself when you laugh and when you sneeze it really gets messy.  Roz is a lot of fun.  It's great hanging with other moms who really, for lack of a better term, 'get you'.  That's what a momtourage means to me:  other moms who get it, you and understand the mommy journey.  When we came home we immediately jumped in the pool and hit the vodka for some mom-tinis.  The recipe for a mom-tini:  1 part vodka and 3 parts - OMG!  I'm so glad this day is over.
