Ripped from today's headlines there's another story of a Teacher (aged 27) allegedly having sex with her 14 year old student. Shocking and disgusting. The mother of the boy was tipped off by another parent at their PTA meeting. (I will never blow off another PTA meeting again.) After checking out his cell phone, the mother found hundreds of contacts between the student and teacher who were allegedly having sex on the school grounds no less. One of the last texts from the teacher told the boy to "erase your phone" which he obviously did not. Apparently, she's still good at giving directions.....and he's stilll not good at following through on them.
When my husband heard the story he quipped, "Where were all these hot to trot young teachers when I was growing up? Nobody ever wanted to see me after school, I feel cheated." He literally had an elderly teacher one year named Miss Crabtree.
After laughing out loud for several minutes I felt the need to remind him that the boy was just that...a boy....an underage student. What the heck was she thinking? Sex on the school grounds? Texts? What's next? Couldn't she just cruise the internet like all the other child molesters? I guess sharing a myspace page with the kid just wasn't enough for her.
Unfortunately, my husband's reaction mirrors our neighbor Anthony's reaction too: that embarrassed little laugh followed by: an 'atta boy'; and 'if they were having sex on the schoold grounds after school does that qualify as an Intramural sport or was it part of the arts and crafts program?'; 'I didn't know sex ed had a lab'; and another 'why didn't that ever happen to me?' To which his wife replied, "You went to Catholic school genius. Those nuns weren't interested in you....you know nuns...none of this none of that."
I reminded both men that if the story were reversed and the student was a 14 year old female and the teacher a male they'd be crying foul and would be furious. If the story is true, this teacher is obviously a child predator and will go to prison for about 7 years.
How long since you watch TV last time?
Good show named Couguar and if I am not mistaken run by NBC....
